A year in the author life. If you’re keeping track, I started with episode zero. So, yes, it’s been a full 52 weeks of posts.
There were times when I didn’t feel like writing. Times when I wanted to give up and stop. But I’d promised myself I’d do it for an entire year, and I’m glad I stuck it out.
I had some help along the way, a few guest posts here and there. Thank you to those authors who helped me make it all the way to the end of the year.
I’m happy to announce that the posts have been compiled and published into a single ebook or paperback that you can purchase if you’d like to support me. The book is on pre-order now and will publish on January 1, 2020. And if you’ve been supporting me by reading these each week, I appreciate that as well. The posts will remain on the site and available for everyone to read for free.
It’s the end of the year and it’s time for me to look ahead to next year. I will continue writing and publishing on The Author Life—both the website and the topic. But I could use your help in determining how I plan to move forward.
Writing the short, weekly posts was an experiment. And so, next year, I’d like to experiment with monthly, long-form posts. The topics will be more in-depth, more focused on themes. Not that the posts this past year were meaningless. I took each one seriously. However, covering fewer topics, but doing so in a more intentional way, feels like the way I want to go for next year.
So, what would you like to read about? Obviously, I’ll continue to write on topics that are relevant to the author life. My goal is always to help struggling writers transform into career authors. But there are many ways I can do that. Please reply or email me at jthorn DOT writer AT gmail DOT com and tell me how I can help you make the transformation.
And finally, thank you for reading my articles. And a special thank you to those of you who took the time to respond, positively or negatively, about the articles. I value that interaction, and I vow to continue to read and answer every email that hits my inbox. I do not have an “email person” or VA working the account for me.
I hope you’ve achieved everything you wanted to this year and that you’re positioned to do even grander things next year.
Sincerely,
J.
