My friend Yvonne Carder shared this with me after we spent some time together at an author event.

She gave me permission to share it with you. Enjoy.

How do you explain to someone about the instant connection you find in a group of people coming together to share a passion?

How do you explain to someone who’s never felt the joy of creation the sense of soul-filling completion when you’re part of a group working together, using all their different strengths and backgrounds to breathe life into an idea?

It’s almost impossible.

But I’ll try.

There’s a lightness. A sense that what you’ve just participated in has left an imprint on your psyche forever.

You’re recharged.

Even though your body and mind may be exhausted from the hours spent creating, from the total immersion into the process, that core of you where creativity comes from is overflowing.

Ideas are bubbling to the surface and it’s exciting.

Completeness.

This was exactly what you needed. The absolute rightness of it throws open a lock you didn’t even realize was there, blocking the universe from coming in and setting up shop.

This is why we creators do what we do. We seek the satisfaction of a job well done. We seek a community to share. It may be large, or it may be small, either way, we know it when we find it like a siren’s call to our soul.

So, what are you waiting for? Step out of your comfort zone, leave your ego at the door, and take a leap. You might just be amazed at what you discover buried deep within you.
